Jin's Spring Cleaning

JSC Thumbnail_2.png

You've been hired to clean up a town! But your methods are tad... unconventional.

A project experimenting with basic physics and how players can interact with the game's environment in a fun, simple way!

This was the first 3D game I created as part of a 2 week internal game jam. The key things that I learned were: understanding basic physics in order to pick up objects in the world space, focusing on one mechanic to polish for effective gameplay; and basic 3D in Maya.

I had the opportunity to present this project at Norwich Science Festival and the majority of feedback received was about the clarity of the HUD - players couldn't see it clearly enough to pay attention to it - and the length of the tutorial page. I very quickly realised that players don't like to read and would prefer either figuring it out for themselves or being taught within gameplay.
